Mint Lemonade

Looking for a refreshing summer drink? Here is a great spin off of a classic that is simple with a sophisticated taste.

Lemonade was the summer beverage at my home growing up. Crystal Light was my grandma’s drink of choice and you could always find a pitcher of it at her house.

Lemonade is always sold in stands on the street- I mean who didn’t have at least one lemonade stand growing up? I remember one time someone stopped and didn’t want a drink but gave me $10! Since then I have tried to buy lemonade from anyone selling it.

I love finding fun new recipes but this one was a flavor changer. We couldn’t get enough of it!

Mint Lemonade

  • 1 3/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup fresh mint leaves

  1. Mix sugar and water in a saucepan and cook for 5 minutes, cool.
  2. Stir in orange and lemon juice and pour over mint leaves.
  3. Let stand for 1 hour, then strain into jar and refrigerate.
  4. Use 1/2 cup syrup for each glass.
  5. Fill with ice and water.
